Frequently Asked Questions
ABOUT THE MENU
Who is the Group Set-Price Menu for?
Our Group Set-Price Menu is available for parties of 13–30 guests and requires a pre-order at least one week before your booking.
Smaller groups of up to 12 guests are welcome to order from our À la Carte and Menu du jour on the day of their visit.
Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?
Yes. Our Menu du Jour, À La Carte and Group Set-Price Menu all include vegetarian options for each course. While we do not always offer a dedicated vegan option, we’re happy to prepare a vegan dish on request. Simply let us know when you book and our chef will be pleased to make the necessary arrangements.
Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
Yes. As all of our dishes are prepared in-house from raw ingredients we can accommodate most allergies and dietary requirements by adapting our recipes. Please let us know when you make your booking and remind the staff when placing your order. For groups of 13–30 guests, dietary requirements can be included with your pre-order.
Is there a children’s menu ?
Yes. Our Children’s Menu is available throughout the year for £12, including a small portion of a main course from our Menu du Jour followed by a scoop of ice cream.
For groups of 13–30 guests, children may either order from the Children’s Menu on the day or, if preferred, pre-order from our Group Set-Price Menu alongside the rest of the group.
Is a service charge added?
Yes. A discretionary 10% service charge is added to all bills.
LARGE GROUPS (13-30 GUESTS)
What is the maximum group size?
Our downstairs cellar can accommodate up to 30 guests. If you’re planning a larger event, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss the options available.
Where will our group be seated?
Groups of up to 12 guests may be seated either on the ground floor or downstairs, depending on availability. If you have a seating preference, or if anyone in your party has reduced mobility and is unable to use the stairs, please let us know when booking and we’ll always do our best to accommodate your request.
Groups of 13–30 guests are normally seated in our downstairs cellar, either around one large table or several tables arranged together, depending on the size of your group.
Can we have a private room?
Our downstairs cellar can often be reserved as a semi-private dining space for larger groups, subject to availability and the size of your party. Depending on other bookings, you may have exclusive use of the room, or share the space with a small number of other diners.
Please note that our guest toilets are located downstairs, so other customers may occasionally pass through the cellar to access them.
How do I submit my pre-order?
Pre-orders are required for all groups of 13 or more guests and must be emailed to info@frenchliving.co.uk at least one week before your booking.
To help us prepare your meal, please include:
- Each guest’s name
- Their menu choice
- Any dietary requirements or allergies
DEPOSIT & BOOKING CHANGES
When and how do I pay my deposit?
A £10 per person deposit is required for all bookings of 6–30 guests.
For bookings of 6–12 guests, the deposit is paid when you book on our website or by telephone.
For bookings of 13–30 guests, we’ll arrange payment with you while your booking is being made. Deposits can be paid by telephone or in person at the restaurant.
Please note that your booking is only confirmed once the deposit has been received. Until then, we cannot guarantee that your table will be held.
How do deposits work?
For bookings that require a deposit, the deposit secures the number of places reserved for your party and will be deducted from your final bill on the day.
If your plans change and you need to amend the date, time or number of guests, or cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll always do our best to help.
As larger group bookings often require us to reserve significant space, plan staffing and prepare for your visit in advance, they may also prevent us from accepting other reservations. For this reason, refunds or transfers of deposits cannot be guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on our ability to reallocate the reserved table or places to other guests.

Yes. You’re welcome to bring balloons, flowers and small table decorations to help celebrate your occasion.
