Frequently Asked Questions

ABOUT THE MENU

Which menus are available during the festive season?

From 1st to 24th December, our À la Carte menu is replaced by our set-price Christmas Menu.

For tables of up to 12 guests, both our Christmas Menu and Menu Bistro are available.

For groups of 13–30 guests, all guests pre-order from our Christmas Menu only.

Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?

Yes. Our Christmas Menu and Menu Bistro both include vegetarian options for each course. While we do not offer a dedicated vegan option, we’re happy to prepare a vegan dish on request. Simply let us know when you book and our chef will be pleased to make the necessary arrangements.

Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?

Yes. As all of our dishes are prepared in-house from raw ingredients we can accommodate most allergies and dietary requirements by adapting our recipes. Please let us know when you make your booking and remind the staff when placing your order. For groups of 13–30 guests, dietary requirements can be included with your pre-order.

Is there a children’s menu ?

Yes. Our Children’s Menu is available throughout the year for £12, including a small portion of a main course from our Menu Bistro followed by a scoop of ice cream.

For groups of 10–30 guests, children may either order from the Children’s Menu on the day or, if preferred, pre-order from our Christmas Menu alongside the rest of the group.

Is a service charge added?

Yes. A discretionary 10% service charge is added to all bills.

LARGE GROUPS (10-30 GUESTS)

What is the maximum group size?

Our downstairs cellar can accommodate up to 30 guests. If you’re planning a larger event, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss the options available.

Where will our group be seated?

Groups of up to 12 guests may be seated either on the ground floor or downstairs, depending on availability. If you have a seating preference, or if anyone in your party has reduced mobility and is unable to use the stairs, please let us know when booking and we’ll always do our best to accommodate your request.

Groups of 13–30 guests are normally seated in our downstairs cellar, either around one large table or several tables arranged together, depending on the size of your group.

Can we have a private room?

Our downstairs cellar can often be reserved as a semi-private dining space for larger groups, subject to availability and the size of your party. Depending on other bookings, you may have exclusive use of the room, or share the space with a small number of other diners.

Please note that our guest toilets are located downstairs, so other customers may occasionally pass through the cellar to access them.

How do I submit my pre-order?

Pre-orders are required for all groups of 10 or more guests and must be emailed to info@frenchliving.co.uk at least one week before your booking.

To help us prepare your meal, please include:

  • Each guest’s name
  • Their menu choice
  • Any dietary requirements or allergies

DEPOSIT & BOOKING CHANGES

When and how do I pay my deposit?

A £10 per person deposit is required for all bookings of 6–30 guests.

For bookings of 6–12 guests, the deposit is paid when you book on our website or by telephone.

For bookings of 13–30 guests, we’ll arrange payment with you while your booking is being made. Deposits can be paid by telephone or in person at the restaurant.

Please note that your booking is only confirmed once the deposit has been received. Until then, we cannot guarantee that your table will be held.

How do Christmas deposits work?

For bookings that require a deposit, the deposit secures the number of places reserved for your party and will be deducted from your final bill on the day.

If your plans change and you need to amend the date, time or number of guests, or cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll always do our best to help.

As December is one of our busiest times of the year, larger bookings often prevent us from accepting other reservations. For this reason, refunds or transfers of deposits cannot be guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on our ability to reallocate the reserved table.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Do you have high chairs ?

Yes. High chairs are available on request. Please let us know when you book, especially if you’ll need more than one, so we can have them ready for your visit.

Are dogs allowed ?

Yes. As long as they’re well behaved, dogs are very welcome at French Living. Please let us know when you book so we can reserve a table that’s suitable for both you and your four-legged companion.

Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Our main restaurant is on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible. Please note that our downstairs cellar, where groups of 13–30 guests are normally seated, is accessed via a spiral staircase and is therefore not wheelchair accessible.

Please note that our toilets are located downstairs and are accessed via a spiral staircase.

If you have any accessibility requirements, please don’t hesitate to contact us before your visit and we’ll be happy to discuss the best seating options available.

Where can I park ?
