As Christmas approaches I’m once again reminded of why we created French Living back in 1994.
It was not driven exclusively by a desire to share French food, although of course this is our passion and we love bringing authentic French dishes on to the Nottingham restaurant scene. The principal driving force behind French Living was to bring people together, to make connections and nurture conversation. Back in 1994, the social media phenomenon had not yet taken hold, but taking time to bring the family around a table was sadly on the decline. This is why we focused on creating an intimate, convivial atmosphere at French Living, a place that replicated the French love of bringing family and friends around the table, with home-made nutritious food and special regional wines.
At Christmas, family becomes the focus. It’s the one time of year when we wake up to the importance of connection, conversation and quality time together, without screens or the desire to achieve. I personally believe this should not be reserved for one day in the year. Who you surround yourself with, both online and offline, shapes how you experience life. The people you follow, talk to, spend time with, influence what you value and how you grow.
French Living is here to help you nurture those all important relationships. Our small French Living team is a family-inspired hub of kindness, happiness and professionalism. You’ll meet familiar faces, and if you visit often enough, you’ll get to know their mannerisms, foibles and quirky French traits. We pride ourselves on making every diner welcome and loved, from a table for one to large party gatherings. You’ll be remembered. And with time, like all good friendships, an inexplicable ease evolves, and a table at French Living becomes more than a restaurant meal out. It will feel like Christmas, every day of the year.
