SOIRÉE PAËLLA

On 21st May, as the first golden evenings of early summer arrive, we’re celebrating with a special Paella Evening at French Living. Born in the countryside around Valencia, paella was originally a humble farmers’ dish: rice cooked over an open fire with whatever was at hand, with saffron giving it its now-iconic golden glow. Practical, generous and made to be shared, that spirit remains at its heart. Over time, the dish spread into southern France, where it became closely associated with summer fêtes, seaside holidays and large communal meals, often cooked in vast pans for hundreds of guests. A favourite of our team, this evening is a special opportunity for our Chef to showcase his take on a dish we don’t usually serve, one made for sunshine and sharing.
