Candle-lit and brick-walled, it feels like a hidden place where time slows, conversations deepen and meals are meant to be shared, gently transporting you away from Nottingham into France and creating the perfect atmosphere for enjoying good food and wine together.

Groups & Celebrations
We welcome all kinds of groups and celebrations, including birthdays, family gatherings, work dinners, team meals, anniversaries, weddings, engagement meals, reunions, leaving parties, retirement dinners and any special occasions worth celebrating !
Group Size
- Minimum group booking : 13 covers
- Maximum group booking : 30 guests
The Space (Semi-Private)
- Our downstairs dining area is semi-private
- As our only toilets are located downstairs, guests dining upstairs may occasionally walk through the room
- Depending on the group size and how busy the restaurant is, the space may be shared with another table
- A fully private space cannot be guaranteed
- For groups of 14+, guests will be seated on separate large tables placed next to each other
Menu for Groups
- Groups dine from a set-price À La Carte Menu only (see above)
Optional additions
- Côte de bœuf for two to share: £100 per piece (£50 per person), served with two homemade sauces, vegetable garnish and gratin dauphinois – Please note: no cancellation allowed
- Celebration cake: £100 – Homemade Chef’s fondant au chocolat, suitable for 14–18 people. Candles included. Served with plates and a knife for guests to serve themselves – Please note: cancellation or changes must be made at least 3 days in advance.
Dietary Requirements & Allergies
- Allergies and dietary requirements must be included with the pre-order
- If a specific dish needs to be prepared, please inform us before submitting the pre-order
- Most dishes can be made gluten-free, often by adapting the sauce
- Please avoid dishes containing pastry or pasta if gluten-free
- We do not serve gluten-free bread
Decorations & Special Requests
- Guests are welcome to bring flowers, small table decorations, balloons
- No confetti, No sparkling candles
- Corkage is not permitted
- Outside food or drinks are not allowed
Pricing & Service Charge
- Menu prices: £35 (2 courses) / £40 (3 courses)
- Prices are per person, food only, excluding drinks
- A discretionary 10% service charge is added to the final bill
- Our receipts include a VAT number for company expenses
Pre-Orders
- Pre-orders are required for all group bookings
- Pre-orders must be sent at least one week before the event.
- Pre-orders should be emailed to info@frenchliving.co.uk.
- Pre-orders must include:
- Guest names
- Menu choices
- Any dietary requirements or allergies
Deposits & Payments
- A £10 deposit per person is required
- Bookings are only confirmed once the deposit is paid
- Deposits should be paid as early as possible to secure your date.
- Deposit policy:
- Refundable if cancelled at least two weeks in advance
- Transferable to another date if notified at least two weeks in advance
- The full deposit is deducted from the final bill.
- Deposits can be paid:
- By card over the phone
- By popping into the restaurant
Accessibility & Practical Information
- No parking is available on the street; disabled parking only
- The downstairs area is accessed by stairs and is not wheelchair accessible
- High chairs are available on request
Cancellations & Changes
- Cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance to receive a refund of the deposit
- Any change in guest numbers should be communicated as early as possible, so the kitchen can adjust orders and preparation
