French Living :: Come to the Table by Louise Luiggi

French living - a passion for food

French Living was created in 1994 by Corsican/English partnership, Stephane and Louise Luiggi.

“A way to a man’s heart is definitely through his stomach” explains Louise “particularly a Frenchman’s”.

In an attempt to cure Stéphane’s homesickness and his longing for French foods, this creative couple devised a business idea that would grow from being a simple shop, to a café and later a 40-seat restaurant.

The French genuinely do live for their food. They plan their day around mealtimes and look forward to those moments around the table with family and friends. This passion for eating led to the creation of French Living and hopefully some of this love for good food can now be passed on through our site.

A French lifestyle is a relatively easy and healthy way to live – it’s all about choosing good quality, fresh ingredients and taking time to enjoy them. This may mean spending a little more but the flavours are far superior. Also, everyone knows that a freshly cooked meal rather than a processed ready-meal is a far healthier option, and considerably more enjoyable.

This lifestyle is made easier for the French thanks to their superb choice of fresh, traditionally produced ingredients from local markets, as well as a plethora of speciality shops. They have also managed to protect and develop their regional specialities.

French Living has brought together a selection of these regional foods, as well as an array of everyday grocery classics, for you to sample at home. Simply visit our online shop. Why not find out more about cooking and eating the French way by reading Louise Luiggi’s book Come to the Table, also available at the online shop.
